Kalmar was the first manufacturer to commercialize the reachstacker worldwide in 1985.

Since then, Kalmar has become the global leader in container handlers. In fact, 1 out of 4 containers worldwide is handled by a Kalmar built product. The current Kalmar G series reach stacker is the most extensively tested reachstacker in the world. Productivity, reliability, ergonomics and service accessibility are all built into the rugged platform of the G series reachstacker. Kalmar utilizes "Redundant CAN-bus looped Network" electrical technology which greatly reduces the number of electrical wires, relays and connections resulting in easier troubleshooting and greater reliability.
